My client is a leading commercial roofing company in greater Cincinnati, Ohio. They seek to add resources and focus to expand their commercial roofing services beyond public works:  schools, jails, and hospitals, to serve private commercial roofing clients. Job Description:

The goal of this position is to enhance field operations by augmenting and focusing the team around jobs, both roofing and metal, meeting the goals of one point of contact for customers, and overall efficiency. In addition, this position would oversee and support the warehouse operations and its organization. The position would be responsible for driving the private contracting division of Kelley Brothers Roofing as a profit center.

As the Division Leader for the Private Commercial Roofing Contracts division, you will spearhead efforts to establish a strong presence in this market segment. Reporting directly to President and Board, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to grow our client base and deliver exceptional roofing solutions to private commercial clients. This role requires a keen focus on business development, team leadership, marketing, and operational excellence to achieve our division’s objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Business Development: Lead the identification and pursuit of new private commercial roofing contracts. Develop and nurture relationships with property owners, developers, facility managers, and other key stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.


Business Organization and Efficiency:  Support field and warehouse operations so that the customer experience and overall efficiency improves.


Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to private commercial roofing contract projects. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to ensure the success of our division.


Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to position our company as a preferred partner for private commercial roofing projects. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify growth opportunities to drive our division’s success.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other divisions within the company, including estimating, accounting, and field operations, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of private commercial roofing projects. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize processes and deliver exceptional results.


Performance Management: Establish clear performance expectations for team members and provide ongoing feedback and support to foster their professional growth and development. Monitor key performance indicators and take proactive measures to address any areas of improvement.




Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction environment, preferably a specialty subcontractor or commercial roofing contractor, with a strong record of success in business development and leadership roles.

Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with both external and internal stakeholders:  key decision-makers in the private commercial sector, as well as the leadership of the company.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential.
