We are currently looking for a Commercial Pricing Manager to come on-board for a Direct Hire role with one of our Logistic Organizations in the LA Area. The Commercial Manager will drive cost optimization, strategic pricing, and operational efficiency for the company. This person will be working with the Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Billing teams to align pricing models with business/prospect goals.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant work experience in commercial/pricing roles within the logistics industry. This role requires the person to have at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Commercial department, providing direction, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.
- Design and implement pricing strategies and cost analyses that support profitability and long-term growth.
- Oversee preparation of complex pricing proposals for domestic and international mail, publications, and parcel services.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales and Executive leadership, providing insights on transportation market trends and competitive benchmarks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of pricing initiatives with operational capabilities and client expectations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive pricing models and reporting dashboards using advanced Excel and business intelligence tools.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and client pricing issues through collaboration with A/P, Billing, and Customer Service teams
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain top talent within the Commercial department.
- Ensure departmental KPIs and SLAs are met, reporting progress regularly to senior leadership.
Skills & Duties:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field preferred; Associate degree and equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial/pricing roles within logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data and forecast impact.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization, SQL, Python or pricing tools is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Effective communicator with the ability to present complex pricing concepts to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Highly organized with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
