Job Description

Manage quarry employees and production of coal (surface mining)

in accordance with safety, environmental and production regulations. Provide efficient operation of quarry equipment to maximize daily productivity.

Responsibilities:

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”3″>Manage labor force including training, supervising, monitoring performance and handling disciplinary issues
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”4″>Organize and coordinate maintenance of equipment
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”5″>Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”6″>Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”7″>Analyze production data to identify areas in need of improvement
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”8″>Coordinate with engineering, management, and other personnel to ensure successful completion of projects
• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”9″>Manage mining employees 30+ per shift

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Regularly inspect work areas and production processes for safety, efficiency, and profitability

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity without compromising environmental standards

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Maintain accurate records of personnel activities and employee performance

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Provide guidance to employees with regard to regulations, policies, procedures, job duties and safety practices.

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Keep abreast of changes in mining laws, regulations, and best practices. Implement any changes necessary to comply with regulations and improve productivity.

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Compile reports related to production activities and submit them to management for review.

Qualifications:

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Bachelor’s degree in Mining or relevant field preferred.

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>5+ years of experience in a mining operation

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Knowledge and understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards and industry best practices

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Excellent problem solving skills

• ol]:!pt-0 [&>ol]:!pb-0 [&>ul]:!pt-0 [&>ul]:!pb-0″ value=”1″>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
