This family-owned custom manufacturer is in need of a Senior Controls Engineer to join their organization! This position has the ability to be a Senior Controls Manager or grow into the Senior Controls Manager role. Either Senior Controls roles will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
What you will be doing:
- Work with the project team to discuss project requirements
- Manage gathering of information and the information flow on projects from the customer and vendors as needed
- Provide all electrical design calculations, components, schematics, control panel layouts, BOMs, PLCs and HMIs
- Work with Quality to test the equipment and troubleshoot as needed
- Assign design tasks to junior level engineers and review designs
- Act as the technical resource on any controls related matters
- Provide written sequence of operation and technical support in creating instruction manuals
What they are looking for:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree is preferred, but a combination of education and extensive experience will be considered
- At least 5+ years of experience in a Controls Engineering role
- Previous supervision of engineering staff experience is a plus for the Manager role, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong PLC and HMI programming skills are required
- Knowledgeable with AutoCAD Electrical
- Ability to create electrical schematics, control panel builds and BOMs
- Ability to handle mutiple projects
- Must have strong communication skills
