Growing, non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee strategic and day-to-day quality initiatives. The Quality Manager will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for further developing, leading and improving the quality team, including:
Evaluating, developing and improving the quality plan for the facility
Communicating with customers on any quality issues; serving as the primary quality contact
Overseeing the quality lab and staff, including direct and indirect reports
Maintaining and improving quality management systems
Ensuring that the staff receives the needed quality training
Determining root cause analysis, creating corrective actions and communicating the quality status to the customer
Utilizing formal problem solving techniques to resolve quality issues
Performing customer quality investigations
Completing quality audits, reports and monitoring metrics
Communicating with production and hourly staff to ensure quality compliance
Company is seeking a confident quality management professional with excellent hands-on quality engineering skills, who is capable of building relationships with manufacturing leaders, their team and the floor staff. Candidates must be able to communicate directly and effectively at all levels, have good written and verbal communication, be team oriented and have a passion for developing and improving quality standards. This is a hands-on management position; candidates will be required to perform quality investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions. REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Manager: 1. A bachelor’s degree is highly preferred, but not required 2. At least five years of similar manufacturing quality management experience
3. Experience working in manufacturing environments, ideally high volume
4. Experience overseeing others 5. A strong customer communication background 6. Experience completing root cause analysis and corrective actions
7. Experience with formal problem solving techniques
8. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required: 1. Experience working with international companies
2. Quality certifications
3. Plastics experience
Candidates are preferred to be local to the Findlay, Ohio area.
