1              PURPOSE

1.1.      The purpose of this job description is to establish and define the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, duties, and measures of performance of the Quality Engineer for the company.

2              REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

2.1.      The Quality Engineer reports to and is accountable to the Quality Control Manager.

2.2.      The following positions report directly to the Quality Engineer:

2.2.1.      None

 

3              JOB REQUIREMENTS

3.1.   EDUCATION

3.1.1.      BS in ME or BME discipline

3.2.   LICENSING

3.2.1.      Vehicle Drivers License

3.3.   EXPERIENCE

3.3.1.      1-3 Years’ experience in an engineering or technical quality position, or a BS in ME/BME

3.4.   SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

3.4.1.1. Ability to interact with employees.

3.4.1.2. Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.

3.4.1.3. Ability to write and update process documentation and specifications

3.4.1.4. Ability to support customer contract review, customer quality audits and supplier quality activities

3.4.1.5. Ability to support engineering activity not limited to tooling and process design based on drawing, CAD and Solid works models

3.4.1.6. Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing

3.4.1.7. Basic Knowledge of Hermetic sealing and fabrication processes such as etching and punching

3.4.1.8. Basic Knowledge of EDM and CNC machining

3.4.1.9.Able to interpret blueprints and customer drawings

3.4.1.10.        Able to perform root cause analysis

3.4.1.11.        Able to use microscopes and other inspection and measurement devices including CMM

3.4.1.12.        Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize a computer and various software.

3.4.1.13.        Ability to adhere to all ISO, GIDEP, and Government/Defense standards such as ITAR, DFAR and EAR

 

 

3.5.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

3.5.1.      Prolonged periods of sitting and standing

3.5.2.      Ability to lift 40 lbs

3.5.3.      Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection microscopes

3.5.4.      Environment:  Climate Control

 

4              DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: AEROSPACE DIVISION

4.1.      To make it understood that “the Customer is our first priority”.

4.2.      To manage the project/product realization process for new customer programs and parts.

4.3.      To perform statistical analysis on manufacturing and inspection processes.

4.4.      Develop in process inspection plans and reports.

4.5.      Create automated CMM inspection plans and support first part correlation studies with customers.

4.6.      Create, perform and document AS9102 first article reports.

4.7.      Perform Gage R&R Studies.

4.8.      Lead process DOEs to improve manufacturing and inspection processes.

4.9.      Design inspection methods for HRP and or customer supplied parts.

4.10.  Program and operate inspection CMMs.

4.11.  To write and train inspectors on inspection plans and methods.

4.12.  Support manufacturing planning, troubleshooting, and interpretation of specifications to ensure product quality and delivery.

4.13.  To adhere to company policies as described in the employee handbook.

4.14.  To understand and adhere to all AS9100, FAA and DoD requirements.

4.15.  To keep the site management team informed of any issue that may have an adverse effect on the wellbeing of the company.

4.16.  Attend or conduct meetings as necessary and required.

4.17.  Any other duties or tasks assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
