Our client, a regional leader in distribution, manufacturing and delivery of specialty, intermediate and commodity chemicals requires an experienced QA professional to serve as their Quality Assurance Manager. This position is located at our client’s facility in the greater Chicago, IL area. Remote work arrangement is not available.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality control assurance through laboratory testing, procedure and program management and laboratory testing on products and in-process samples.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications through lab testing.
- Control and document laboratory procedures and equipment to comply with ISO-9000 requirements.
- Support and comply with ISO-9000 procedures for all company operations.
- Update and revise quality procedures as necessary.
- Supervise laboratory assistants.
- Initiate non-conformance reports and assist in necessary corrective actions.
- Prepare sample shipments in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Attend operational meetings to report on critical quality issues.
- Provide technical assistance as required to customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or related STEM discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing setting related to quality compliance. Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience with ISO-9000 compliance.
- Proficiency in in laboratory and business software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise the work of laboratory personnel.
