Purchasing Specialist / Buyer – Manufacturing (Piqua)

Direct placement position as Purchasing Specialist / Buyer with a manufacturer of custom-designed large equipment.

LOCATION:  Onsite position in Piqua (remote is not available)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Select new vendors based on purchasing work instructions

• Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

• Select products for purchase. Typical parts and services purchased include outside machining work, castings, steel, electrical and hydraulic components, gears, bearings, and fabrications

• Order raw materials: different types of steel and metals (ex. Hastelloy, Stainless Steel (316,2205), Carbon Steels (1020, 1018) Castings – Iron, Steel, Steel light

• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

• Develop and build positive, long-term supplier relations

• Enter product details of BOMs from the engineering 

• Generate purchasing orders / RFQs

• Process order requisitions

• Approve invoices for payment

• Maintain accurate documentation records of transactions, purchase orders, and invoices

• Support Purchasing Supervisor and assist one other Purchasing Specialist / Buyer 

REQUIREMENTS

• Purchasing experience within manufacturing, including outside machining work

• Blueprint reading (to specify fabrication and machined part orders)

• ERP / SAP system experience

• BOM experience

• Materials scheduling

SALARY: $60,000 – $71,500, full benefits package, vacation, 401k
