Our client is currently seeking an incredibly organized and adept Engineering Project Manager to manage and push forward with the product development of one of our current and future portable DC fast charger products. The person will coordinate all aspects of the project for effectiveness, quality and cost. This requires maintaining and adjusting the overall project  schedule and identifying, raising and resolving concerns regarding product development, supplier selection plus readiness, manufacturability and testing.  Additionally, the Engineering Project Manager will leverage their understanding of the hardware design process to collaborate within the engineering department and across other departments to define project  roadmaps, project  requirements and project strategy.  The position is fully in-office.  

Responsibilities:

Manage project and product development that are multi-discipline with multi-stakeholder involvement. Disciplines include Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems and Test Engineering. 

Responsible for taking the necessary action to see that the projects are completed efficiently, on time and within the established budget

Works closely with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.Integrate and manage a cross functional project team to develop appropriate project roles and responsibilities.

Ability to manage changes to the project scope/requirements during all phases to meet the changing needs of the organization.

Implement the team’s development of a comprehensive project plan, schedule, communications plan and establish the  documentation and change control methodology

Coordinates the development of a project budget and cash flow as needed. 

Provides clear concise and comprehensive reports for management and c suite.

Identify and correct issues in-project timeline and communicate effectively throughout the organization.

Work closely with C suite 

Responsible for supervising project team members 

Requirements:

Candidates must have:

5+ years working as an engineering leader, engineering project lead, or engineering program manager.

Experience managing HARDWARE projects

Proven success as a people/team manager

Demonstrate superior organizational skills including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues.

Experience working in a matrix organization

Adaptive attitude to fast-evolving small company environment  and rapid development cycles.

Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities.

Well versed in project planning tools such as Clickup, SmartSheets.

Well versed in JIRA, Upchain  and Confluence for issue tracking and project summary.

Familiar with PLM systems for BOM and ECO management.

Deep understanding of the hardware development process from the electrical and mechanical perspective.

Deep understanding of how hardware and firmware integrate throughout a product development cycle.

BS in a relevant technical field e.g. EE, ME, or CS or prior experience work in engineering departments
