An established and reputable systems integration firm needs a Sr. Project Engineer. This role will be responsible for leading mid-scale projects to ensure milestones are met, providing technical input, and responsible for making sure specification requirements inputs and design outputs align. This position requires PLC/HMI programming, AutoCAD skills, troubleshooting, design/implementation/document control solutions for instrument control systems.

Essential Duties
- Participate in project planning, estimating, scheduling, staffing, procurement and execution of project scope of work
- Accountable for schedule, budget and quality deliveries for all assigned projects
- Design/draft of control/instrumentation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical control schematics, bill of materials, sequence of operations, panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications and contract documents
- Perform PLC and HMI programming
- Prepare all required submittals and Manuals. Responsible for ordering required materials and equipment
- Create and validate Bills of Material (BOM’s). Track status of Materials & production process. Release Drawings through Document Control for customer review, analyze design changes with customers and technical sales representatives
- Track incoming material status and identify each production order location in the production cycle
- Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules
- Manage the project management of change (MOC) process
- Track Instrument and Control design efforts against budgets and expected progress
- Responsible for FAT Test of Control panel hardware/software and on-site start-up
- Authorize product released by QA/QC department for shipment as the final gate-check on quality, functionality, entirety, documentation and safety of the final product
- Maintain and manage project history log and status updates
- Other duties, as assigned, within ability and responsibility level of the job
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This role will primarily involve sitting at a computer desk for multiple hours at a time
- Work in Jobsite field environment. Lifting, carrying, squatting, and climbing ladders
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office, production, and manufacturing shop environment
- Periodic daily and/or overnight travel in the field may be required – approximately 10%
- Field environment; construction, water, and wastewater treatment plants
- Safety equipment required; hard hats, boots, safety vests, and eye protective gear
- May be required to work overtime as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum of 7+ years of related experience
- Competency with industrial automation controls (PLC’s), sensors, instrumentation and programming is required
Special Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software especially MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel
- Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD) is desired
- Knowledge and experience using various hardware/software products and services employed for process control system such as (Rockwell, Intellution, CTC Parker, Wonderware, GE), familiar with PLC hardware and programming software (Allen Bradley, Modicon/Square D, Siemens, or GE Fanuc)
- Familiar with low voltage MCCs, VFDs, 1-ph and 3-ph motors, and control
- Panel design experience a plus
- Knowledge of North American & International Codes & Standards (NEC, IEC, UL 508A) is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have a Texas valid drivers’ license and insurance
- Texas Professional Engineer License – Control System or Electrical is a plus
