Main Job Functions:
- Manage the Assembly, Machine Shop, QA & related equipment testing functions.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to the Manufacturing Department and interfaces with Sales and Engineering.
- Contributes to Quality and Safety improvement efforts.
- This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule for the Machine Shop, Assembly and machine testing activities.
- Interface with customers and coordinate the FAT function.
- Evaluate and identify opportunities for the training and professional development of personnel.
- Assist in the strategic direction and structure of the Operations Group.
- Conduct personnel reviews.
- Evaluate and advise the necessity of capital requirements and technological improvements.
- Assist in the scheduling, evaluation and coordination of outside services.
- Advise the Engineering Department on product or process improvements.
- Supervise the update of engineering drawings. Ensure that required documentation accompanies drawings.
- Assist with customer installations and/or technical services. Occasional travel is required.
- Adhere to Company policies and safety regulations, and actively lead the effort to enforce safe work practices.
- Adhere to and implement the ISO QMS. Participate in a Process of Ongoing Improvement to identify policies, processes and procedures that contribute to improve the operations of the Company.
Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years’ experience in mechanical assembly and testing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent technical training
- Basic computer skills
- Basic Solid Works & Anvil browsing knowledge.
- Ability to understand and work with blueprints and engineering drawings.
