Depending on experience, salary up to 85K + paid overtime on the weekends after 40 hours worked + GREAT medical benefits day one of employment

Due to an internal promotion of someone who has been with the company for just a year, this fast-paced automotive supplier is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to manage the containment area and initiate scrap reductions.  Daily you will work within a team of engineers and report to the Engineering Manager.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  

  • Champion new and ongoing scrap reduction activities 
  • Focus on the management of the containment area and review parts for quality issues 
  • Review quality issues with the quality management team 
  • Lead root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and evaluate improvements 
  • Determine action items for production to reduce scrap and monitor the effectiveness
  • Reduce monthly scrap rate and evaluate ongoing metrics and KPIs
  • Monitor incoming and ongoing scrap data through the company’s data collection system 
  • Communicate with customers as needed on warranty issues 
  • Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment and independently, communicating with manufacturing on quality issues, have creative problems solving skills and be able to lead root cause, corrective actions and CI activities.  The company offers competitive medical, dental and vision benefits – available day one of employment, as well as 401K, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and PTO.  This position is eligible for straight time overtime pay for any weekend hours worked after 40 hours per week.  

REQUIREMENTS for the Continuous Improvement Coordinator: 
1. A high school diploma and/or GED is required; a degree is preferred 

2. At least 2-5 years of similar experience in a problem-solving position 
3. Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments 
4. The ability to read part blueprints 
5. Mechanical aptitude   
6. Process improvement experience and/or strong problem-solving skills 
7. Microsoft Office, including MS Excel skills 
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. 5WHY experience 
2. Tier I or Tier II automotive supplier experience
3. Strong root cause analysis and corrective action skills
4. Formal problem solving
