Process Engineer – Plastics Molding (80-130K)

 

We have an opportunity available for a Process Engineer – Plastics Molding in the Utica, NY area. 

As the Process Engineer, you will ensure all molding systems operate effectively to support plant production. This includes troubleshooting and improving these systems with an overall goal to improve quality, improve efficiencies and drive down costs. 

 

Key Duties will include: 

  • Monitor molding operations and provide technical support for processes.
  • Assist in the development and training molding department technicians.
  • Work with production and quality control to insure availability of high quality molded parts as needed.   
  • Set specifications for all molding materials.  Monitor these materials to make certain the specifications are met, and that the materials are applied properly in the molding systems.
  • Develop and manage process specifications for all molder/mold combinations in the plant.
  • Monitor molding manufacturing processes and implement cost and quality improvements to minimize molding waste.
  • Provide technical input to Engineering Department in new mold design and modifications.
  • Evaluate and interact with outside supplier sources for molded parts, components, molds, and tooling.

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or Technician
  • Knowledge of injection molding or blow molding
