This company is seeking their next leader, their next plant manager…it could be you!  

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of safety, quality, production, scheduling, maintenance and engineering in this profitable, non-automotive, non-union plant.  The Plant Manager will coach, mentor and develop direct and indirect reports while promoting and improving a safe and quality-driven manufacturing environment.  He or she will thrive in environments that are in need of fostering a collaborative team-oriented environment.  Qualified individuals should feel comfortable updating and improving processes and standards, holding others accountable, providing reliability in the plant and establishing a stabilized team-oriented environment.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a safety-focused manufacturing culture while optimizing processes  
  • Coaching, mentoring and leading a staff of indirect and direct reports
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to decrease scrap, increase efficiencies and save the organization money
  • Reviewing data, completing root cause analysis and initiating countermeasures to reduce inefficiencies and waste 
  • Overseeing and analyzing the plant P&L 
  • Hiring team members and supplying a robust onboarding program to ensure team success
  • Communicating with production partners, such as HR, sales, etc. 
  • Monitoring plant metrics and focusing on sustaining reliability of the plant 
  • Managing and reviewing the scheduling process with the supply chain coordinator and assisting with troubleshooting any raw material issues
  • Driving plant culture improvements while establishing and fostering team-oriented relationships 
  • Resolving any staff concerns, including disciplinary issues, and documenting as needed 
  • Other duties as directed by management 
The company is seeking a candidate that is willing to spend up to 33% of their day on the manufacturing floor.  Candidates should make safety and quality the primary focus, take ownership of their plant, lead by example, coach and mentor their staff and have the ability to hold others accountable.  Individuals that consider themselves to be a change agent and have the ability to drive positive change of a manufacturing site should apply.  The qualified individual will be passionate about continuous improvement, establishing consistent processes and LEAN initiatives.  The company’s competitive medical benefits are available day one of employment.  
Requirements for the Plant Manager:
1. Bachelor’s degree is required; a technical field is preferred 
2. At least three years of similar manufacturing operations management experience 
3. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports 
4. Strong experience with root cause analysis and countermeasures 
5. General understanding of P&L
6. Experience initiating continuous improvement/LEAN efforts 
7. ERP experience 
8. Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel 
Skills preferred, but not required:
1. SAP experience
2. Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications 
3. Experience overseeing multiple departments
