Job Title:  Office Manager- Machine Shop

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager to oversee the administrative functions of our busy Machine Shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all office operations, including bookkeeping, purchasing, scheduling, and customer service. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks of the machine shop, including purchasing, inventory, invoicing, and payroll.

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including financial reports and budgets.

  • Manage customer service operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and addressing customer inquiries and complaints.

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate the production schedule with machine shop staff.

  • Maintain office equipment and supplies, including ordering supplies and coordinating maintenance and repairs.

  • Maintain personnel records and manage HR-related tasks, including recruiting, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Create and maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and productivity.

  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the machine shop.

  • Knowledge of Pro Shop ERP is a plus. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in office management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Understanding of HR policies and procedures.

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles.

  • Knowledge of machine shop operations and terminology a plus.

Salary:

$58,000- $60,000
