Are you an experienced professional with a background in the pet food industry and a deep understanding of pet food manufacturing and ingredients? We are seeking a National Sales Manager to oversee and enhance our client’s current account base in North America. This division has established a dominant position in market share, thanks to their innovative and highly regarded pet food products. While this role involves new customer acquisition, the primary focus is on managing and nurturing existing client relationships. 




  1. Manage and Maintain Current Accounts: Ensure the satisfaction and retention of existing clients, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.
  2. Develop New Customers: Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding our customer base in both existing and new market applications.
  3. Strategic Market and Sales Planning: Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective market and sales strategies that align with our business goals.
  4. Financial Planning and Reporting: Prepare plans, budgets, reports, and necessary analyses to support sales and revenue goals.
  5. Trade Show Participation: Represent the company at local, regional, and national trade shows to promote our products and build relationships within the industry.
  6. Contract Management: Read and review contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure that all agreements are in the best interest of the company and its clients.



  1. Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with a preference for degrees in Food Science, Animal Science, Chemistry, or Grain Science.
  2. Industry Experience: You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the pet food manufacturing or pet food ingredients sector.
  3. Sales Expertise: Prior experience in pet food industry sales is highly desired, showcasing your ability to understand and sell products in this specialized market.
  4. Travel: Be prepared for significant travel, as this role involves approximately 60% of your time on the road, visiting clients and attending industry events.
  5. Contract Negotiations: Experience with contract negotiations is a valuable asset, as it can enhance your effectiveness in securing and maintaining client relationships.
  6. Account Management: Prior experience in account management is a plus, demonstrating your ability to cultivate and retain client accounts.
