Manager of Machining & Processing
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Machining & Processing is responsible for the strategic planning and
management of all activities for the Machining, Processing and Programming groups. This position will oversee the
production output, daily productivity, and department specific quality goals to ensure company and customer
objectives are achieved.
Essential Responsibilities:
• With the CEO, develop and execute strategic, operational, and manufacturing process plans that ensure the reliable
production and on-time delivery of high-quality products at the lowest possible net cost, thus driving profits;
• Oversee the planning, budgeting, cost monitoring, manufacturing methods and staffing;
• Possess a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks on-time or early;
• Must be a self-starter and possess an entrepreneurial attitude and style;
• Create a positive team environment. Ensure all machining/processing and programming departments understand
their requirements and are ready to support other internal areas through work effort coordination and a cohesive
team-oriented collaboration;
• Lead continuous improvement culture and implement lean manufacturing techniques and cost reduction programs
throughout the facility;
• Partner with Supply Chain Management in the development of partnerships with suppliers;
• Participate in the closing of new business deals by demonstrating technical and manufacturing competencies,
coordinating requirements and integrating contract requirements with business operations;
• Lead efforts to provide technical support for customers;
• Design and implement processes to meet established time and quality targets for all operations;
• Oversee the Machining, Programming & Estimating efforts of new work-holding and fixturing designs for complex
machining and/or processing operations;
• Travel as necessary to meet with customers to prepare for the startup phase of production;
• Effectively communicate with customers regarding technical aspects of their products and manufacturing
services;
• Bring new projects to production phase with efficiency while meeting customer deadlines;
• Establish and monitor metrics related to critical processes and cycle times; lead corrective actions if needed;
• With the CEO and HR, foster cross-training among machining employees to create a workforce capable of responding
to changing demands;
• Ensure compliance with Quality and Regulatory standards and maintain adherence to all company policies and
procedures;

Additional Skills & Responsibilities:
• Strong values and broad technical knowledge in the areas of CNC Machining, Programming, Six Sigma, Lean, Quality,
Reliability, and Manufacturing Technology;
•Seven to ten years of manufacturing leadership experience required;
