We are seeking an IT Project Manager for a remote contract role with our client in Durham, NC (27703). Compensation depends upon experience level. 7-10 years of Project Management experience working in a Pharma/Biotech environment, especially with financial systems.

IT Project Manager that has a strong Financial systems background, preferably Oracle eBusiness Suite; experience working within the BioPharmaceutical industry is a plus. Will work primarily on Finance (Purchasing, Treasury Tax, A/R, A/P), HR, and Legal. This role will report directly to the Business Relationship Manager, working to synchronize efforts of a team of stakeholders across all levels of the company, as well as external partners. The incumbent will lead a variety of different types of projects including implementing new systems and services, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. The ability to collaborate with staff at all levels while remaining professional, proactive, organized, resourceful, and efficient, is critical to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management of implementations & upgrades of the Oracle eBusiness suite and other related Systems in the Finance and Administration areas.
  • Directs multiple projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners.
  • Follows the methodologies and standards for IT project management and implementation, which includes guidelines, procedures, standards, and monitoring for organizational compliance.
  • Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project.
  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
  • Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute responsibilities.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
  • Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.
  • Publishes periodic project status reports.
  • Proposes recommendations and adjustments.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on Projects.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • Remote job, East Cost time zone preferred
  • 7-10 years’ experience in Information Technology acting as a project manager
  • 5+ years subject matter experience in one or more of the following business functions: Finance, HR, Legal, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations
  • Knowledge at the expert level of current IT project and services processes and methodologies
  • Proficient in the use of technologies especially the MS Office Suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio)
  • Proficient in the use of PPM (Project Portfolio Mgmt.) software and/or able to learn new software quickly
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a high-functioning team
  • Analytical and problem-solving adeptness and excellent organizational capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management
  • Experience working in Biotech or Pharmaceutical organizations is preferred
  • PMP Certification would be considered a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
