IT Desktop Technician

Our client is seeking a IT Desktop Technician in Woodland Park, NJ (07424) for a 9+ month contract position with 2-4 years experience. Previous experience with conducting Windows enterprise deployments is preferred. Compensation depends on experience. The IT Desktop Technician will be responsible for setting up new PC’s and Laptops configured with Windows 10. This position will also require moving boxed PC’s from differing locations, disconnecting existing PC’s, as well as setting up new ones. Tasks may also include device staging, installation, delivery and setup of systems, in addition to diagnostics of basic hardware and software problems encountered by the end-users.

Responsibilities

• Stage new PC’s and Laptops based on the customers Windows 10 image
• Deploy the staged PC or Laptop at the user’s desk
• Communicate with the customer’s Client Services department for migration of user data (profiles, etc.)
• Troubleshoot PC and Windows 10 issues with supervision if needed
• Professional presentation for work in a corporate environment
• Collect old equipment from end-users, track for inventory and store items in an organized fashion

QUALIFYING EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 2 – 4 years’ experience in a desk-side support role
• Experience with Windows 10 and Office365
• Experience with PC and Laptop hardware and devices in a corporate environment
• Basic understanding of firewall, networking concepts and Active Directory
• Experience with ticketing systems such as Remedy and Service Now is preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable in a team environment, also has ability to work independently
• Able to adapt and to be assertive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• Detail oriented, focused and organized
