Our client is seeking a Application Support Specialist for a direct hire role in Boston, MA (02214). Compensation depends on experience. Experience with IT Support within Law Firms would be highly preferred.
The Application Support Specialist would work closely with IT, external Help Desk and end users in helping to evaluate, support and troubleshoot end-user computer applications. This individual will be the first point-of-contact for the end-user, and will require a depth of knowledge when it comes to user experience. The position would require a deep understanding of how the firm’s applications work and perform troubleshooting systems and problem-solving.
Primary responsibilities:
• Support all end users and supplement the firm’s help desk for escalation of problem issues and handling technical issues in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the smooth operation of specific software applications within an organization or to the end-user
• Involved in the maintenance and upgrade of applications as they uncover bugs or common issues faced by the end-user, as well as reporting on the functions of the app itself.
• Provide guidance to personal technology upgrades/acquisitions by Attorneys and Staff.
• Identify training needs, and assist/direct curriculum development
• Provide analysis of user trends and preferences in software selection
• Provide input on next application iterations and updates
• Support the resolution of Data Security issues and prevention
• Evaluate and implement new software platforms for the firm.

Experience Requirements:
This key position would have knowledge of SQL databases, specifically IManage Document Management Systems, Microsoft Office 2016 and Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Litera workshare and other key applications.
Additional education and professional experience requirements are as follows:
• Associates degree in computer science or related discipline. Bachelors preferred
• Five years-experience In a professional services environment, preferably a law firm.
• Excellent active listening and communication skills
