Human Resources and Safety Manager

Our client is looking for a Human Resources and Safety Manager to join their team. The role supports a large metals manufacturer located in Warren County, PA, will be based on site, report into the General Manager, and work closely with the CHRO.  

 

The Human Resources and Safety Manager position is multifaceted, and will help to lead the following efforts within the HR and Safety Functions:  

 

What you will do:  

  • Support positive employee relations (PER) strategy to maintain a union-free status while collaborating with and supporting corporate PER policy and philosophy, 

  • Implement multi-year and annual people and safety plans to support and drive business objectives, 

  • Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures that foster a culture of engagement and accountability,    

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Employee life cycle and administers HR programs, including but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; recruitment and hiring; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; employee engagement; occupational health and safety; workers compensation; and training and development,    

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance,  

  • Establish and implement Human Resources and Safety policies, goals, objectives, and procedures,  

  • Process payroll, timekeeping administration, and compile payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records,  

  • Ensure records are maintained in compliance with rules and regulations required of Federal Contractors, and prepare information required or requested for compliance, 

  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, team meetings, etc. 

  • Maintain HRIS and safety data, employee/personnel files and documentation and other reporting required to comply with regulations, 

  • Implement initiatives to improve safety culture and overall operational integration of safety best practices by demonstrating a strong commitment to a safe work environment through leadership, education and accountability, 

 

Requirements:  

  • 1+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment is required 

  • Experience with Safety policies and Worker’s compensation is preferred. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
