Setting: Laboratory-Pathology
Location: Geneva, NY (Finger Lakes Region of New York State)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Medical and Laboratory Directors, and Cytology supervisor, performs a variety of diversified assignments of a technical nature. These duties are in accordance with fundamental histological guidelines practiced by histotechnicians/histotechnologists and pathologists.
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
Two-year degree in Histotechnology/Medical technology.
LICENSE:
Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Histotechnologist.
Will accept provisional licensure with contingency to pass licensure exam within 12 months.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
One year experience under the direction of a pathologist.
SKILLS:
Minimum:
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
