Our client is an engineering design and fire protection consulting firm with offices in the south east. 
 
The Lead Engineer is an experienced fire protection engineering professional who successfully leads the performance of engineering tasks on various projects from start to finish under the guidance and direction of the PM. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Serves as the primary engineering resource on assigned projects with competence, independence, thoroughness, accuracy, and creativity
  • Organizes and plans for the timely execution of tasks to ensure the project schedule is satisfied
  • Communicates information appropriately internally to keep PM and EOR apprised of project concerns and engineering decisions
  • Effectively communicates with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders via telephone, email, and other means, as appropriate, with little assistance from the PM
  • Solves engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education, asking for assistance from PM or other senior engineers as needed
  • Performs and documents design development tasks with a high degree of detail and competence
  • Produces engineering documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, reports, letters, narratives, etc.)
  • Performs construction administration services with a high degree of detail and competence
  • 20-30% travel for construction period services is anticipated
Qualification:
  • BS in engineering, engineering technology, science, or related field
  • 2+ years of fire protection experience
  • Proficiency in Revit/ AutoCAD, BIM 360
  • Registered/ licensed PE (preferably Fire Protection Engineering) or certified engineering technician (NICET), or ability to become licensed/ certified within 24 months
