We are currently looking for a Financial Business Analyst to come on-board for a Full-Time position with our eCommerce 3PL client in the Los Angeles Area. The Business Analyst in the Finance department, will play a critical role in driving data-driven financial decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate will blend financial analysis with business process improvement, leveraging SQL database management to extract, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and manage large datasets from databases.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Design and implement dashboards/reports to support financial analysis and business performance.
  • Partner with IT to ensure data integrity, optimize database performance, and support system enhancements.
  • Identify process inefficiencies within financial workflows and implement automation solutions.
  • Conduct gap analyses to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close activities with data-driven insights and reporting.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed, including cost analysis and profitability studies.
Job Knowledge & Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and database management.
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, QB, or similar) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical/non-technical teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex modeling.
  • Background in finance-related automation projects or business intelligence initiatives preferred.
