$160,000.00 - $175,000.00
We are currently looking for a Finance Director/Controller for one of our growing Logistics clients specializing in the Pick-up/Drop-off industry. This position would sit in the Nassau County Area and will require 10%-15% travel, as needed to copany sites and teams. In this role, you will build and run the financial close, lead FP&A, and serve as the financial source of truth for the executive team, the board, and external partners. This is a build role. You will be putting structure in place, not maintaining structure that already exists. You will set the standard for how finance operates at the client and grow the function as the business scales.
Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP compliant financial statements.
- Lead FP&A: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario planning, and unit economics modeling.
- Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and manage working capital.
- Partner with Commercial on deal level financial analysis, contract structuring, and pricing.
- Partner with Operations on cost analysis, network economics, and cost to serve modeling.
- Own external reporting to the board, lenders, and partners, including consolidated reporting where required.
- Manage tax compliance, external audit, and accounting firm relationships.
- Establish internal controls and accounting policies fit for the stage of the business.
- Select, implement, and own core finance systems (ERP, FP&A, expense management).
- Build out the finance team over time (likely 1 to 2 hires in year one) and scale as the business grows.
Requirements:
- 8 to 12 years of progressive finance experience, including time in both controllership/accounting and FP&A.
- CPA required.
- Public accounting foundation (Big Four or top regional) plus industry experience.
- Experience owning a full close cycle and producing audit ready financials.
- Strong modeling skills, including driver based models, scenario analysis, and unit economics.
- Comfort with consolidations and reporting to multiple stakeholders.
- US based, with the ability to work in office 4 days per week.
- Excellent communication. You can present financials to a board without making them more complicated than they need to be.
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, ecommerce, or asset light operations.
- Experience scaling a finance function from early stage through structured operations.
- Experience with debt and equity reporting, lender covenants, or investor reporting.
Nice to Have:
- Experience implementing or upgrading ERP and FP&A systems.
- Treasury experience.
- Prior people management experience
Please note: This not open to 3rd party c2c agencies. No visa sponsorship provided. All applicants must have permanent US work authorization and not require sponsorship now or in the future. Locals/daily commuting distance required.
