ETM Cell Production Manager

The position reports to the CEO.  Responsibilities and

 

  • To set up and run the full production cell
    • Produce on time, on quality parts with predictability and consistency
    • Manufacture of 4 primary part numbers plus 4 minor part numbers
    • To implement the methodology to manufacture any part in volume
    • To follow Tak time, touch time, LEAN and 5S principles to maximize efficiency
    • To implement continuous improvement practices to maximize yield
    • To use data driven methods (eg time and motion studies) to improve operations
    • Own and manage the BOM and inventory
    • Ensure change control procedures are used in conjunction with engineers
    • Ensure changes by production staff are approved, documented and captured in change control processes with engineers
    • Measure and record scrap, damaged, rework and RMAs from customer
    • Follow the RMA procedure and calculate repair costs for RMAs

 

  • Personnel
    • To lead a cell consisting of dedicated and shared resources
    • To ensure continuous training and improvement of personnel
    • To work collaboratively with colleagues across all disciplines of the company
    • Communicate daily, weekly and strategic goals proactively with team
    • Create, lead and maintain a high, positive team morale
    • Dedicated team currently consists of 2 assemblers, 1 RF engineers, Junior test engineer and test engineer (both currently in hiring process)
    • Support from and collaborate with the team, production manager, engineering team, machining team and administration team

 

  • Documentation
    • Ensure all production documentation is up to date and aligned with engineers
    • Work with production staff to ensure immediate access to documentation
    • On a daily basis, ensure production documentation is followed 100% by staff

 

  • Materials Management
    • Ensure all materials management procedures are followed including
      • Component storage and handling
      • Always ensure adequate inventory for production
      • Use of inventory management system (in development)
      • Requisition of new materials and re-orders to purchasing
      • Work with engineering to validate materials changes
    • Ensure efficient and timely kitting operations

 

  • Customer Interface
    • Liaise with customers as required
    • Set up KPI reporting processes for release to customers

 

  • Other
    • Minimal travel
    • Focused on meeting daily production targets (ie not 9-5)
    • Northern New Jersey work location

 

Requirements

 

  • 5 years minimum high power RF Amplifier production or RF Assemblies
  • Preferably with GaN, LDMOS, GaS devices
  • Must understand an electronics BOM
  • Management of assembly and test personnel
  • Minimum 5 years production management and manufacturing engineering experience
  • Ability to create documentation and train personnel
  • Experience in soldering to IPC J standard
  • Scale up experience through full lifecycle from design, PCBAs, mechanical, integration and test
  • Strong understanding of RF test requirements
  • Preferred background in military amplifiers
  • Strong to Fluent written and spoken English
  • Must be able to analyze data and make data driven decisions
  • Must have been been trained in report writing
  • Second language is an advantage Hebrew, Russian, Spanish
  • Near expert level of MS Office especially Excel
  • Very strong collaborative attitude with articulate inter-personal skills
  • Must wear on several “hats” and be self sufficient
