This full time, permanent Engineering Manager career opportunity is at a company that has grown 20% annually for the past decade. Sales are estimated to double this year. This company is small but very stable as the government is one of several larger customers. Employees matter here and are able to see what’s going on all throughout the company. Retirement benefits are offered but health insurance is not currently provided.
The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate include the following:
  • Functioning as the overall engineering resource manager for all engineering tasks
  • Directing and overseeing several concurrent projects
  • Supervising engineering designs as well as related products and processes
  • Working with project managers
  • Developing and prioritizing the product design backlog
  • Overseeing product improvement projects
  • Creating process improvement plans
  • Managing project schedules and expectations
  • Mentoring the engineering staff
  • Managing the budget development process
  • Overseeing budgeting costs and budgets are met
  • Negotiating with customers and engineering suppliers
  • Identify engineering requirements
 
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
  • An engineering degree
  • Five or more years of managing an engineering team
  • Five or more years of developing product designs
  • A solid work history
  • A US citizen or possess a green card
  • A residence within 45 minutes
