Electrical Engineer:

Summary:

This is a developmental role where incumbent will work throughout the facilities with experienced Electrical Engineers and technicians and will be responsible for troubleshooting/enhancing the reliability and functionality of the plant’s electrical equipment and plant automation for a continuous process.

Essential Responsibilities:

¨     Responsible for safe, reliable operation and maintenance of all electrical systems and automation to insure equipment reliability and productivity.

¨     Directs maintenance and engineering activity supporting plant electrical, automation and control systems. 

¨     Proficient in developing, trouble shooting and maintaining factory automation systems using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s along with VVVF drives, motors and controls.

¨     Extensive knowledge and experience with utilizing instrumentation and automation to safely and reliably control equipment and factory operations.  Experience with all types of sensors and instrumentation required.

¨     Maintain and develop OPC Client/server technology for data collection, trending, control and HMI interfaces and screens. 

¨     Understand and become knowledgeable of other subsystems throughout the facility to properly maintain and support to insure reliability of the equipment.

¨     Coordination of activities of various outside contractors on an as needed basis.

¨     Focus all resources into returning the production line safely to operation in the event of a line stop.

¨     Remains current with the technology and changing plant requirements.

¨     Recommend and implement modifications or additions to existing equipment or replacement of equipment to improved plant safety and efficiency.

¨     Responsible for providing training in the correct and safe methodologies for electrical technician personnel.

¨     Assist electrical technician personnel in maintaining and upgrading their skills and must interact with the Human Resources Manager in the identification and development of programs to meet these requirements.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

¨     Observes plant safety and housekeeping rules at all times

¨     Can organize multiple projects at one time

¨     Effective communication skills

¨     Teamwork ability

¨     Blueprint reading

¨     Electronic Drawing Programs (AutoCAD)

¨     Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet programs)

¨     Knowledge of line controls and instrumentation

¨     Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and assessment skills

¨     Familiarity with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)

¨     Familiarity with Document management systems (DMS)

¨     Awareness of EPA & OSHA regulations

 

Education and/or Experience:

¨     Bachelor degree in a Electrical Engineering or related technical field required

¨     Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or technical area considered
