Overview:
Our company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Fire Suppression Electronics team at our R&D Facility in Cranston, RI. At Cranston’s R&D center our engineering teams are responsible for the design, development, and certification of fire protection products which aid in life safety and property loss mitigation. Working with a team of hard-working engineers, program managers, product line managers another specialists ls, together, you will build outstanding life safety products that use digital, analog, and wireless technologies and be able to develop your career through progdynamichnical challenges and leadership opportunities.
What you will do:
In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to – Develop automated fire detection and control systems for heavy-duty off-road mining vehicles, commercial kitchens, and firefighter air replenishment systems. You will maintain a high degree of project ownership throughout the entire development cycle including road-mapping, requirements definition, concept development, electronic hardware and firmware development, verification and regulatory testing, training development and launch. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
How you will do it:

Develop fire detection and control systems for vehicles such as haul trucks, excavators, wheel loaders, and bulldozers with wireless connectivity to mine management control centers.

Develop fire detection and control systems for high-end restaurants, casinos, arenas, and food courts with cloud connectivity, remote access, and e-notifications.

Develop control systems for firefighter air-replenishment systems.

Design PCB Assemblies and the embedded firmware for those assemblies for these (and other) applications.

Collaborate globally with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, product management, and manufacturing operations throughout the development cycle.

Work with external suppliers, approval agencies, and design partners.

What we look for:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent four-year technical degree

6+ years of product development experience related to control systems for commercial, industrial, or vehicle applications

System level design and/or analysis experience
-
Electronic hardware/PCB development
-
Design verification and regulatory testing

Strong written and verbal communications
-
Familiarity with software/firmware development processes

Computer proficiency including MS Office
-
In-Office work arrangement with flexibility (commuting distance to Cranston, RI) – time in office as needed with flexibility to work from home
