Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering, the Sourcing & Procurement Director will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing the Supply Chain-Procurement department.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 buyers in three different locations.
  • Manages contract vendor relationships, including monitoring supplier performance in responsiveness, cost, flexibility, and other relevant factors such as financial condition to ensure ability to fulfill contract requirements.
  • Drive direct and indirect cost savings through the deployment of procurement best practices.
  • Develop and implement standards and systems for streamlining procurement processes for all purchasing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Master’s and/or Law degree (preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a management/supervisory role (required).
  • Experience in building and maintaining strategic relations with suppliers.

Location and Travel: This role is based in Astoria, NY but will also require a wiliness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.
