Our client is recognized as a pioneer and major manufacturer of Hydrocarbon Resins with a 90 year history in the industry. They strategically focus on developing long term business relationships that will prove mutually beneficial to their customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders. While they are a chemical company it is all about the people!
To that end, there are many employees who have stayed with the company for 20-30 years. Such is the case with the current IT Leader who will be moving on to the next chapter of life later this year.
Big shoes are left to fill but if you are a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT with an appetite to lead a team and oversee all aspects of the company’s technology infrastructure this may be the opportunity for you!.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with IBM iSeries or IBM System i, as well as a strong background in managing complex IT projects and teams.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the development and implementation of the company’s IT strategy and ensure alignment with the overall business objectives
· Manage and supervise the IT team, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful completion of projects and deliverables
· Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers
· Ensure the security and integrity of the company’s data and systems, implementing best practices and security measures to prevent unauthorized access or breaches
· Develop and manage IT budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency
· Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, and recommend strategies for adoption or implementation
· Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that IT solutions and systems meet business needs and objectives
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
· At least 8-10 years of progressive IT experience leading up to IT leadership roles, with a track record of successfully managing complex IT projects and teams
· Extensive experience with IBM iSeries or IBM System i, including experience in programming, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of these systems
· Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, and security best practices
· Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
· Experience administering an ERP system
· Experience working in a manufacturing industry
· Experience working in a chemical manufacturing industry a plus
