The DEXA Technician performs a variety of technical work related to the taking and processing of x-ray films and work relative to the department’s scope of activities as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Bone Densitometry Program or Radiology Program (CRT).
  • upon hire: California Radiologic Technologist or upon hire: California Limited Permit X-Ray Technician Bone Densitometry Permit.
  • upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
  • upon hire: National Registered Technologist – Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or upon hire: National Registered Technologist – Bone Densitometry.
  • Experience as a DEXA Technician; 2 years preferred.
Skills and Certifications 
  • Graduate of a Bone Densitometry Program or Radiology Program (CRT).
  • upon hire: California Radiologic Technologist or upon hire: California Limited Permit X-Ray Technici
  • upon hire: National Registered Technologist – Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technology
  • Experience as a DEXA Technician; 2 years preferred.
