ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

          Review manufacturing process, methods, tooling, and prints to ensure machinists have everything necessary to successfully manufacture parts.

          Create and update CNC programs/tool paths for existing and new CNC machines as necessary to meet print requirements.

          Troubleshoot problems at CNC machines.

          Provide technical support for machinists.

          Daily interaction with Quality, Manufacturing, Quoting Departments.

          Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.

          Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.

          Maintain tooling database.

          Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.

          Ability to read production schedules, and plan for material use to enhance manufacturing operations.

          Comply with all operating procedures, instructions, and safety rules.

          Communicate effectively with and work well with others.

          Recognize and report all quality issues to operators, line lead, and/or supervision.

          Performs other duties as assigned by supervision. 

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus
  • Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills
  • Familiarity with GibbsCAM preferred.
  • Proficient in math including Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry
  • Previous work experience as a CNC programmer.
  • Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.
  • CAD experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
