Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) –

  • Location: Valatie, NY (20 miles south of Albany)

Duties Include:

  • Work in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
  • Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting therapy activities to fit Residents’ needs and capabilities.
  • Assist Residents in carrying out daily activities.
  • Monitor Residents’ performance in therapy activities, providing encouragement.
  • Teach Residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
  • Supervise Residents’ activities to ensure they are done properly.
  • Report the Resident’s progress to the OTR/L.
  • Responsibly and accurately document treatments and outcomes in rehab software.

Requirements Include:

  • Graduate of an accredited OTA Program.
  • Current New York State OTA License.
  • Experience in long-term care setting a plus.
About the area: Valatie is a very beautiful town that is 20 miles south of Albany. It is a mix of the authentic, historical, community that it once was as well as a modern feel. There are plenty of small businesses along Main Street and restaurants for an outing. There are also Farmers Markets to show people what their town has to offer. Valatie is a village with several waterfalls in Columbia County, New York. The village is at the center of the town of Kinderhook on US 9.
