Automation Leader – Life Sciences

Our client is a large employee-owned (ESOP) engineering firm with over 15 office locations and a Controls and Automation division. They need a Controls and Automation Industry Leader in the Life Sciences industry. This is a leadership role with direct supervisor responsibilities. This role leads a group of talented engineers, specialists, and technical consultants concentrating specifically within the Biopharmaceutical, Life Sciences, and/or cGMP sectors.

Responsibilities
Supervise and provide technical direction to a team engaged in the execution of engineering-related projects with an emphasis on a specific industry
- Work with project managers to ensure industry projects are adequately staffed based on skillset and capability while maximizing utilization
- Create and implement development plans for teammates to advance their careers within the company while fostering growth through mentoring
- Forecast recruiting and utilization needs
- Support business development activities, attend virtual and in-person presentations
- Promote healthy continuing relationships with existing clients
- Support proposal development and estimating efforts
- Communicate with senior leadership team regarding industry status, forecast, and planning

Qualifications
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology 3+ years in a supervisory/leadership role
- 7+ years in a technical role as a controls engineer and/or project manager
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% to a variety of industrial locations
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer
- 5+ years in a supervisory/leadership role
- 10+ years in a technical role as a controls engineer and/or project manager
