Growing Aerospace Manufacturing firm in the Hawthorne area has a need for a Sr Manufacturing Engineer. This is a direct hire opening with a full benefits package.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Analyze, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. • Perform analysis and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. • Provides technical support to manufacturing personnel. • Interfaces and coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results. • Interfaces and coordinates with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. • Interfaces and coordinates with sales, planning, and manufacturing concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and quality results. • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency. • Implement and process new parts and methods to be routed through applicable departments. • Develop (MOM) method of manufacturing, (BOM) bill of materials, and parts cost. • Participate on teams using quality control tools such as 8D, 5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six-Sigma (DMAIC), VSM, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce process variation and process improvement evaluation • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all safety procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times. • Interface with other departments to drive key customer-related manufacturing issues to resolution. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in both intra- and inter-departmental processes and communication. • Co-ordinate with other departments and facilitate technical issue resolution requiring customer action (fixed-process approvals, first article inspections, engineering/quality resolution, etc).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and minimum of 2 years of technical experience • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and specifications • Ability to analyze and interpret data • Trouble shooting skills with focus on process improvement • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, to convey ideas and processes • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal • Self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision • Strong organization and planning skills • Team Oriented • Proficient use of CAD software •
