Due to a retirement, non-automotive, stable manufacturer is recruiting an Accounting Manager to their manufacturing team!  The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and support the site accounting and finance activities.  Daily activities will include:

 
  • Completing the site closing process, including journal entries, fixed assets, cost analysis and supplying to the Controller for final approval and analysis 
  • Providing leadership, guidance and development of A/P and A/R personnel 
  • Finalizing hourly payroll weekly 
  • Updating standard cost based on market changes and adjusting in the ERP system as needed 
  • Partnering with all facets of production, materials and engineering in order to ensure accurate product costing 
  • Supporting weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting 
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process 
  • Overseeing multiple finance and analysis projects at a time, while completing them in a timely manner  
  • Improving financial processes, measurables and KPIs 
  • Completing day-to-day transactions, assisting with cash flow analysis and inventory adjustments 
  • Partnering with the Controller to assist with P&L analysis
  • Backing up the Controller on an as-needed basis 
  • Other duties as assigned by management 
 
Depending on projects, this position requires candidates to be on the floor daily communicating with manufacturing partners.  Candidates should have strong analytical skills, be able to build rapport with the hourly workforce, have good work history and enjoy working within a team oriented environment.  Individuals should feel comfortable doing presentations in front of the leadership team.  Candidates will have the opportunity to grow and advance their career within the company.

Requirements for the Accounting Manager:
1. Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in finance or accounting 
2. At least 3-5 years in a similar diverse manufacturing accounting position 
3. Experience working with ERP systems 

4. General knowledge of cost accounting processes 
5. Experience contributing to the budget processes 
6. Experience supporting month-end and year-end closing 
7. Financial reporting experience 
8. Strong MS Excel skills 
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. Formalized Lean and/or Six Sigma training 
2. Crystal reports 
3. Paylocity or other payroll software 
4. HR, benefits or 401K administration 
5. Supervision experience
